little lights yoga in Child Care Centres & Kindergartens
little lights yoga classes 3 - 5 years
little lights yoga classes are fun, creative and playful, specifically designed for this age group! Each week children are invited to participate in yoga poses, free movement/creative dance, craft, relaxation, stories and songs, within an enjoyable, non-competitive environment. With the focus on having fun and cultivating creativity and imagination, children experience yoga either individually, in pairs or as a group with inspiration being taken from their interests, the animal kingdom and nature. Each class is an opportunity to extend children’s thinking and understanding of themselves, others and the natural world around them.

All our yoga classes help teachers and educators to meet the learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) document, while also helping to meet National Quality Standard (NQS) requirements.

The following outlines how little lights yoga classes help educators meet the learning outcomes in the EYLF:

Quality Area 2: Children's health and safety

Quality Area 5: Relationships with children
  • The yoga teacher engages children so their voice is heard, ensuring their suggestions are included in the yoga classes. Each child is welcomed to participate at their level and their efforts acknowledged, as they interpret the yoga poses either individually in pairs or as a group.
Quality Area 6: Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
  • Through building a relationship with little lights yoga, the service is enhancing children's learning and wellbeing.
