little lights yoga - Supporting Primary School Health & Fitness Programs
Fun, motivating, educational, engaging yoga programs for primary schools!
little lights yoga brings many benefits to the individual children who participate and compliment your schools health and fitness programs, by helping children develop self-confidence, discipline and focus, while improving self-esteem and overall physical wellbeing. little lights yoga programs are designed to make a difference in the lives of children by helping them develop skills to last a life time. Naturally, as children build their physical, mental and emotional strength, the impact can be seen in other areas of their life too. For example:
In the classroom: focus, concentration and increased attention spans, helps children complete school work, helps with ADD, calming busy minds and relaxing active bodies.
In the school yard: increased levels of self-esteem and self-confidence helps children deal with conflicts within friendship groups and to manage the effects of school yard bullying.
On the playing field, court or stage: increased strength, flexibility, co-ordination and balance, helps to minimise injury while playing sport or fun leisure activities.
Out in the world: develops increased levels of respect and kindness for self, others and the environment, promotes healthy living
Yoga programs are developed in 8 week blocks, beginning in week 2 of each term and finishing in week 9 of each term. An overall intention is developed for the 8 week program with each week focusing on a specific aim. Specialised yoga programs can be created on request to meet the specific needs of the students at your school. Please include such details upon initial contact, so I can work with you.
Children leave each yoga class, energised and relaxed having spent time for themselves, working all levels of their being.
