About Amanda
Amanda is a qualified early childhood educator who has been passionate in educating and nurturing children’s growth and development for the past 20 years across a variety of early childhood education services. During this time, Amanda began exploring ways to help children connect with and express their uniqueness. In 2009, she developed a series of creative dance/movement sessions, which she delivered to children aged 3 - 5 years in a local child care centre. During each creative dance/movement session, children were encouraged to find meaning in their movement, through expressing their creativity, imagination and ideas. Seeing each child light up as they expressed their uniqueness allowed them to shine and Amanda quickly realised she was witnessing each child's confidence grow. The joy and experience of offering children the creative space to be themselves solidified Amanda's mission to continue to make a difference in the lives of children through raising their confidence and self-esteem. Amanda's quest and passion to deepen children's connection with themselves, led her to combine her passion of working with children with her love of yoga, which she had been practicing since 2002. Amanda believes that educating the whole child, to include their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing through yoga is the perfect platform to help raise children's confidence, self-esteem and self-image. Through little lights yoga, Amanda aims to inspire and motivate children to experience their potential and delights in seeing children’s confidence and strength increase as she nurtures their innate desire to move through fun, creative, engaging yoga classes.
